Are you tired of feeling sick and tired? Do you just want to go through a day where you’re happy, refreshed, and pain free? While everyone is different, there are some simple things you can start doing today to move closer toward this reality.
It’s simply a matter of trying to do the right things. Here are a few suggestions.

Eat Fresher
You are what you eat. If you’re eating fatty, greasy meals and/or lots of packaged and processed foods, you’re going to feel gross and lethargic. Your body will be inflamed and you’re more likely to feel pain and discomfort in your joints and tissue.
On the other hand, eating fresher, healthier foods can have the inverse effect – making you feel more energetic and focused.
When it comes to eating fresh, we mean fresh. Research shows that fruits and veggies start losing their nutrients within 24 hours of being picked. If you can find a local farmer and/or buy your fruits and vegetables from local markets with organically-grown produce, you’ll enjoy numerous health benefits.
Get Outside More
Have you ever noticed that you feel better (physically, mentally, and emotionally) when you spend time outside? Well, there’s actually research to suggest these benefits are real.
According to Erica Price, a certified therapeutic recreational specialist at Sharp Mesa Vista Hospital, being outdoors can lower your blood pressure by reducing stress. It can also enhance your mood and decrease feelings of anxiety, depression, and anger. Other benefits include improved mood, enhanced focus, faster healing, and graceful aging.
Aim to spend at least two to three hours outside for maximum health impact. However, even something small like a 30-minute walk in the morning or time at the park in the evening can help you feel better.
Stay Hydrated
Most people are not properly hydrated on a daily basis. And a large percentage of Americans are chronically dehydrated.
“Dehydration can affect your mood and make you feel sad, grumpy and confused,” UnityPoint Health explains. “Stay hydrated and feel energized by drinking the recommended amount of water (typically eight 8-ounce glasses a day). Water stimulates the flow of nutrients and hormones that release those feel-good endorphins you need to feel happy.”
Not sure where to start? Begin by drinking three extra glasses of water per day: one when you wake up, one at lunch, and one in the afternoon. (This is in addition to what you’re already drinking.)
Use CBD
CBD can take some of the edge off the day and promote relaxation, without giving you any sort of physical or mental impairment that you might feel with THC. It also has the ability to reduce feelings of pain and discomfort for certain people.
CBD can be used in a variety of forms. If you’re looking for the fastest absorption possible, CBD suppositories from Pacific Roots are an excellent choice. They’re especially effective when targeting pain or discomfort in your sensitive areas.
Eliminate Toxic Relationships
You are the combination of the five or six people you spend the most time with. If those people are encouraging and uplifting, you’ll naturally feel more positive and optimistic. But if they’re negative and hateful, these emotions will permeate your way of thinking and feeling.
In order to feel good and be healthy, you must eliminate toxic people from your life. Whether it’s a friend, partner, neighbor, or even family member, uprooting toxicity from your life will put you in a better mental state.
By definition, toxic individuals are people who are self-absorbed, manipulative, dishonest, deceitful, have difficulty offering compassion to others, and/or tend to create drama and conflict. If you notice people like this in your life, let them know how you feel and start putting some distance between you and them. You should also set some hard boundaries and shift who you spend time with. The more you’re around positive and supportive people, the less you’ll feel magnetized by negativity.
Start Feeling Better ASAP
It doesn’t matter who you are, where you’re from, or what sort of history you have, doing these things will make you start to feel better. It doesn’t mean you’ll suddenly be freed from whatever underlying physical ailments or mental health issues you’re dealing with, but you will feel better. And, sometimes, that’s all we can ask for.
Try implementing these tips into your regular routines and continually be on the lookout for opportunities to insert more positive habits into your lifestyle.
